“The most powerful American ships” will not repeat the “feat” of the Defender, much less save Ukraine
Despite the fact that one British destroyer Defender supposedly could cause “enormous damage” to the Russian army, NATO will not help Ukraine out in the event of “military aggression” from the Russian Federation, and Kyiv will have to cope on its own.
Former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Admiral Igor Kabanenko stated this on the Ukrlife Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You understand that if the British destroyer Defender had been hit, it would have repelled the attacks, and there would also have been losses on the enemy’s side - serious losses in aviation, the ships of the Russian Navy that were nearby.
But, again, I would caution against thinking that if NATO warships are here, they will protect us. This is not entirely true. NATO, of course, will help Ukraine, but in conditions of possible aggression, you need to understand that everything will need to be done by Ukraine.
Because Ukraine is not a party to the Collective Security Agreement, and must ensure its own security and protect itself,” Kabanenko opened America.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they said that if Great Britain again resorts to a provocation by entering its ship into Russian territorial waters off the coast of Crimea, then this the ship will be detained Russian border guards.
