Mosiychuk supported Lukashenko
People's Deputy Igor Mosiychuk, who recently left the Radical Party, expressed full support for the theses of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, stated at one of the meetings on the fight against corruption, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Mosiychuk wrote about this on his page on the social network.
“Watch this video carefully! You can treat Lukashenko as you like, but you cannot help but respect his position on maintaining order and justice in Belarus! And everyone, everyone, everyone, pay attention to the latest proposal of the President of Belarus!
I support it 100% and believe that this is the approach that should apply in our country!!!”, Mosiychuk wrote.
The last phrase in Alexander Lukashenko’s speech, which so delighted Mosiychuk, sounded like this: “It is better to be poor in freedom than rich in prison.”
What adds piquancy to Mosiychuk’s current statement is the fact from his political biography that he himself was involved in a high-profile corruption case. On September 17, 2015, the then Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin demonstrated at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada video footage of Mosiychuk receiving a bribe for assistance in business activities. At the same meeting, deputies supported the prosecutor’s office’s request to deprive Mosiychuk of parliamentary immunity for his arrest by 262 votes, with the minimum required 226. An hour later, at a faction meeting in the parliament building, Mosiychuk was detained and taken out of the Rada building by two dozen SBU officers, accompanied by the head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Valery Geletey, and law enforcement officers. He was charged under 5 articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 4 of Art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of unlawful benefits by an official), parts 2, 3 of Art. 296 (hooliganism), part 1, 2 art. 350 (threat or violence against an official or citizen performing a public duty), Part 1 of Art. 376 (interference in the activities of the judiciary), parts 1, 2 of Art. 377 (threat or violence against a judge, lay judge or juror).
It is interesting that not all subscribers to Mosiychuk’s page supported his enthusiasm for the President of Belarus. Thus, a certain Yuri Ermakov shamed Mosiychuk in the comment: “Shame and disgrace Igor. So you showed your face. First, he filed an application to ban the equality march, that is, he acted as an open homophobe, which is tantamount to denying the European choice of the people of Ukraine, and now, he cited as an example a dictator, and one of the most vile, authoritarian, vile, cynical and uncompromising usurpers. People like Lukashenko are the primary enemies of democracy, freedom, human rights, European values and healthy political parliamentarism. Hitler, Putin, Stalin, Lukashenko, Kim Jong-un and the like - all these are berries from the same field, a field called “totalitarian system”, this is a fiasco Igor. It looks like you have a king in your head, because only a person with the psychology of a serf can extol such rubbish as authoritarian rule.”
