Moskal spoke about the “golden share” of Transcarpathian Hungarians and revealed the background to the SBU raid
The searches of representatives of the Hungarian community and local politicians in Transcarpathia were associated with an attempt by the ruling party “Servant of the People” to bring the “Party of Hungarians of Ukraine” into the coalition in the regional council.
Former governor of the Transcarpathian region Gennady Moskal stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Moskal, the coalition in the interests of the “servants” lacked 10 deputies, which the Hungarian party just received.
“This is due to the struggle for leadership in the regional council. “Servants of the People” teamed up with the regional political party “Native Transcarpathia”. “Servants” received 11 votes out of 64, these received 12, that is, they have 23 votes. In order to have a majority, you must have an advantage of at least one vote. Well, 64 is the regional council, 32 is 50% plus one. Clearly the Hungarians have a “golden share”. They have 10 deputies.
If they enter into a coalition with “Servants of the People” and “Native Transcarpathia”, that means everything, the regional council goes to the “Servants of the People” and Vladimir Aleksandrovich has something to say in his address to the Ukrainians. Well, this is not done so stupidly, out of lawlessness,” said Moskal.
For such behavior, Moskal emphasized, Ukraine could pay with the prospect of membership in NATO and the European Union.
“Hungary is a member of NATO, Hungary is a member of the European Union. It is precisely for such stupidity that we are doing that they will block it, because today we have 28 member countries of the European Union. There is no, like we have in the Verkhovna Rada - 226, the decision has been made. All 28 must vote there. And so do NATO members who must vote. One country is against, and Hungary is against, until the conflict with our inferior officials of Ukraine, who have thus overdone it in this matter, is resolved, they will not vote.”
Hungary will complain to NATO over searches that The SBU set up in Transcarpathia leader of the Hungarian community Vasily Brenzovich, as well as in a number of organizations associated with the community.
