Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev announced this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“If we want to become a truly leading agricultural power, we cannot rest on our laurels. We need to move forward. By 2020, increase the number of jobs in agriculture by 25%,” Tkachev said.
According to the minister, over the past three years, agricultural production has grown by 11%, and supplies of imported food have decreased from $43 to $25 billion.
“Domestic food products have begun to dominate Russian shelves. At the same time, export supplies are growing. Meat exports increased by 24%, pork by 41%, beef by 35%,” Tkachev said.
According to him, thanks to state support, Russian farmers will purchase 21 thousand agricultural equipment this year. For these purposes, they received 25 billion rubles in preferential loans.
“Government assistance will allow us to build 50 greenhouse complexes with a total area of 650 hectares in the next two years. This is an additional half a million tons of vegetables. The state invested 118 billion rubles in this. 90 billion rubles have been allocated for the construction of 100 dairy farms for 66 thousand cows, which will produce half a million tons of milk,” Tkachev said.
Not only state investment in agriculture is growing: for every ruble of state support there are 7 rubles of private investment.
