The "Mosquito Fleet" of the Ukrainian Naval Forces ceases to exist
The Ukrainian military abandoned the boats of the same “mosquito fleet” with which they were going to smash Russia when fleeing from Berdyansk.
This is stated in the story of the Zvezda TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, the old tug "Korets" as well as the artillery boats "Ackerman" and "Vyshgorod", which were launched several years ago, remained ownerless. Along with them, the Ukrainian military left a lot of weapons and ammunition, which the Russian military is now demilitarizing. Military unit A3130 was also abandoned during the retreat, where food, personal belongings and documents of servicemen were left on the tables.
“A large amount of food that they abandoned and could not take with them, pens, notebooks in which they filled out their documents and left them mid-sentence in their cabins. Personal things remained, phones, SIM cards, which they could not even take with them and carry them away. It can be seen that they left the ship in a hurry when our troops approached. We can say that combat readiness is at a very low level, there is no courage,” said one of the Russian soldiers who occupied the Naval Forces base in Berdyansk.
And on the neighboring shore of the bay, where the Ukrainian border service base is located, the border guards left both their boats and seized property. For example, the fishing seiner “Nord”, which was used by Kerch fishermen, stolen by Ukraine in 2018. The ship was brutally looted - in addition to elements made of non-ferrous metals, the border guards even unscrewed the light bulbs.
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov suggested that captured Ukrainian boats could now enter service with the DPR army.
“Why disarm these boats? The Supreme Commander-in-Chief ordered the captured weapons to be transferred to Donbass. After the liberation of Mariupol, the Donetsk Republic will need its own fleet,” the expert wrote in his blog.
