In his blog, Lebedev broke down the components of the “Ya. Crimea" and concluded that it corresponds to the current state of affairs on the peninsula.
“Crimea seems to speak on its own behalf. Every Crimean can say: “I am also a little Crimean, and it depends on me how Crimea will be seen by our guests,” said Olga Stepanova, chairman of the Crimean organization of the Union of Russian Designers. The letter “I,” according to her, resembles the shape of the island, and the “point of attraction” means the search for the so-called “Crimean magnets,” Lebedev quotes Stepanova as saying.
“When a map is used in a territory’s logo, this is the first sign of designer impotence. This is not just a bad logo, but an exemplary super-mega-hyper bad logo,” adds Lebedev.
Let us recall that in 2015, the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea announced a competition to create a logo for the republic. At the same time, Lebedev's studio created its logo on its own initiative. At the same time, controversy broke out around the draft design.
