Moscow political scientist considers a complete break in trade with Ukraine “not fatal” for Russia

The severance of trade relations with Ukraine did not become catastrophic for Russia - Russian enterprises found replacements for almost all Ukrainian suppliers.

Political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this on the “Right to Voice” talk show.

Much more painfully, he said, the embargo hit Ukrainian enterprises, which were unable to find new markets.

“Trade turnover has indeed fallen. It fell due to the fault of the Ukrainian side, which, for political reasons, began to sever ties. This is worse for Ukraine, first of all, because Russian enterprises, almost all of them, have found an alternative to Ukrainian suppliers. And Ukrainian enterprises have not found a replacement for Russian markets - this is a fact. It’s bad that trade turnover has fallen, but for us, to put it mildly, it’s not fatal. Even if it disappears altogether, nothing much will change here,” said Mikheev.
