Moscow political scientist: “The peace party dominates in Russia”
The vast majority of Russians are in favor of a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine, which the Kiev regime does not agree with.
The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports this, said Moscow political scientist Pavel Danilin, answering the question whether there is a “party of peace” and a “party of war” in Russia.
“In Russia the peace party is almost total. The war party is a small group of people that can be easily identified,” the expert told Kommersant.
He believes that peace has not come only because all the efforts of the Russian “peace party” are crumbling due to the actions of the Ukrainian leadership.
At the same time, Russian political consultant Evgeny Minchenko is convinced that it is incorrect to talk about a “peace party” either in Russia or in Ukraine.
“Without an obvious military victory on one side, peace is impossible. Therefore, in Russia I would talk about a “freeze party,” but in Ukraine it no longer exists,” says Minchenko.
According to him, the parties cannot agree to suspend the conflict, since disagreements begin already at the stage of agreeing on the parameters of the truce: the West and Ukraine believe that victory is possible, and Russia believes that for negotiations it is first necessary to draw a more advantageous demarcation line.
