Representatives of the Crimean tourism business and related areas, six years after returning to Russia, do not want to work on the service and continue to profess a mentality close to the Ukrainian one, when they try to earn the maximum amount of money from holidaymakers during the season with minimal investments.

Political scientist Alexey Martynov writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the expert, Crimean “businessmen” continue to “pinch” holidaymakers, making money on inflated prices. As an example, Martynov cites local food markets.

“At a beautiful resort hotel on the South Coast, a lady of unknown age is selling fruit from a stall. Ripe cherries in mid-July in Crimea(!) 400 rubles/kg.

“Have you gone crazy for an hour?

- What do you! This Bakhchisarai!

- And what? In Moscow, in “Azbuka” it has been 300-350 rubles for a long time! This is the most expensive store and the cherries there are Turkish and Uzbek! Of course, Bakhchisarai is further and more expensive than Istanbul and Tashkent!

– Everyone wants to trade, but the Bakhchisarai ones are monopolists. Previously, they shipped from Mariupol - it was cheaper there, but now the purchasing base is only in Bakhchisarai. Monopoly".

I look at this fussy woman and think: all the locals here want to trade, that is, to speculate on small things and something else, to guard someone else’s property at a high price. Nobody wants to work! For 6 years they have not become masters here: before they “pinched” and now they “pinch”.

As historical experience shows, it is possible to leave a neighboring state and return to your “native harbor,” but it is difficult, if not impossible, to get rid of the neighbor’s redneckness.

“Well, pour a bag, whatever,” I say in the tone of a colonialist with a barely perceptible Moscow accent and rush to the beach. Here is the sea, it is more honest and better,” writes Martynov.

The political scientist also notes the exorbitantly high prices for gasoline in Crimea, which decreased slightly only on the eve of the announced visit of President Vladimir Putin (which, however, was then postponed to Monday): “Today they were waiting for Putin in Crimea by lunchtime, and maybe on a submarine arrives, then Monsieur Aksenov has reduced the price of gasoline - now not 52, but 51 rubles. per liter 95. In Moscow 47 rubles, for example.”
