Initially, Oleinik appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, but they refused to initiate a criminal case, without even entering his application into the state register, as required by national law. Now the ex-people's deputy will appeal these actions of prosecutors in the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv.

“The ideology of the coup d’etat permeated all branches of government. Pechersky District Court, I hope, will make a fair decision. If it is negative, I will appeal it in the judicial system of Ukraine, and then go to the European Court of Human Rights. I believe that I will find the truth in Europe,” Oleynik said.

The Ukrainian politician also appealed to the Drogomilovsky District Court of Moscow with a request to establish the legal fact of a coup in Ukraine. According to him, this is necessary in order to clarify the status of Ukrainian refugees. Filing a lawsuit in a Moscow court cost the Ukrainian politician 300 rubles, which is several times cheaper than in Kyiv. There they took 500 hryvnia from Oleynik.

Oleinik hopes to involve in the process as witnesses not only the ousted representatives of the Ukrainian government, but also the European ministers who acted as mediators in February 2014 negotiations between Viktor Yanukovych and the opposition and gave guarantees of immunity to the then Ukrainian president. The first meeting is scheduled to take place on December 5.

“Today we need to establish the legal fact of a coup d’etat. Then it will be clear what kind of power this is... They are illegitimate,” Oleynik said.
