The author notes that for such events it is very important to stir up interest in oneself, and “the revolution must be presented beautifully in order to “sell” it to journalists.”

At the same time, protesters are copying what they have previously seen in other countries.

“Creative guys appear who turn demonstrations into monsters - with “dictatorship funerals” in fake coffins, with round dances in national costumes, with women in white opposing “cosmonauts” in black... The obligatory program of this revolutionary marketing is the visualization of the image of a little man rebelling against Systems. This performance is especially for photographers. Sometimes even for special photographers,” the special correspondent points out.

The journalist writes that it is very important to show one protester against the background of a terrible chain of security forces with clubs and shields. At the same time, he illustrates his material with similar photographs from Tbilisi, Moscow, Kyiv, Minsk.

“This could be a girl in an embroidered shirt and a wreath, in front of the Berkut formation, or a black man kneeling in front of the machine guns of the American National Guard, or a young man with his arms outstretched in the pose of the crucified Christ, or a girl with the Constitution sitting at the feet of riot police, or a woman on kneeling before the security forces. Such photographs, as a rule, adorn the front pages and covers of freedom-loving newspapers and magazines with scary headlines. Here, whether you like it or not, you will be imbued with sympathy for those who desire sunny democracy in totalitarian hopelessness,” Kots sums up.
