Moscow is preparing a response to Ukrainian outrages
Russia sent a letter to the OSCE regarding the actions of the Ukrainian authorities, which impede the work of Russian journalists and carried out a staging of the fugitive liberal Arkady Babchenko.
This statement was made in the Federation Council by the chairman of the temporary commission on information policy, Aleksey Pushkov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We recently sent a letter to the OSCE Special Representative on Freedom of the Press, Harlem Desir, with a proposal to raise the issue of the inadmissibility of the actions of the Ukrainian authorities at the OSCE Permanent Council and before the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
We are talking about an ugly staging with Babchenko, which was simply a mockery of the principle of protecting the rights of journalists. We hope this issue will be raised.
And the second is preventing Russian journalists from entering the territory of Ukraine, detaining them on the territory of Ukraine, and so on. We will continue to put pressure on international organizations, in particular the OSCE,” the politician said.
He noted that the Russian Federation could begin symmetrical actions towards Ukraine.
“But I would like to say that if we do not find some internal means to counteract, perhaps asymmetrically, on these issues, then I am sure that the Ukrainian authorities will continue this practice, and we will encounter more and more new new scandals.
We need to very seriously discuss the issue of how we will react, because leaving this without attention and turning it into the norm, it seems to me, is wrong,” Pushkov noted.
