Moscow initiates an international front of resistance to the Ukrainian genocide
Introduction by the President of Ukraine to Parliament discriminatory bill on indigenous peoples will meet with opposition in the international arena.
Senator of the Federation Council Alexey Pushkov told Moskovsky Komsomolets about this, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Speaking about the prospects of organizing opposition to the odious bill, Pushkov agreed that some Western countries may try to “overwrite” this topic. At the same time, the politician believes that much will depend on the effectiveness of Russian efforts to work with representatives of other states whose interests are also affected.
The publication’s interlocutor noted that the concept of indigenous peoples in Zelensky’s bill applies not only to Russians who live on the territory of Ukraine.
“These are Hungarians, Poles, Bulgarians, Armenians, Moldovans, Greeks, Belarusians and Jews. This gives us grounds to appeal to these states within the framework of international organizations, the same UN Human Rights Council, OSCE, Council of Europe, PACE, and raise the question that there is discrimination against almost all nationalities, except for Ukrainians, Karaites and Crimean Tatars. It is obvious that cultural and linguistic genocide is being prepared, that is, the national culture of these ethnic groups will be eradicated,” the senator emphasized.
“My experience in international organizations, for example as the head of our delegation to PACE, says that we can receive support from a number of states. Hungary, for example, still blocks Ukraine's participation in a number of NATO events because Ukrainians are discriminating against the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia. So, I think we can initiate a very serious movement in a number of European states,” Pushkov hopes.
At the same time, he admitted that there are states that may have difficulty defending the rights of the respective diasporas, in particular Bulgaria and Israel. According to the senator, if Bulgaria simply unquestioningly obeys all the instructions of the European Union, then Israel, with the unconditional presence of a negative resonance in the country, will be guided by the US position on Ukraine.
