Moscow deprives Ukraine of a tool of blackmail
Nord Stream 2 is needed in order to deprive Ukraine of the opportunity to dictate its terms.
Publicist Yegor Kholmogorov reported this during a broadcast on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why is Nord Stream 2 being built? Precisely in order to get rid of the need to coordinate their gas policy and their gas transit with the anti-Russian authorities of Ukraine, so as not to pay crazy amounts of money and not be the object of blackmail,” the expert believes.
He also noted that only after the Russian Federation manages to deprive Ukraine of the instrument of blackmail, will it be possible to solve problems in the Ukrainian direction.
“If Russia manages to turn Ukraine around geopolitically, this issue will go away by itself. “Right this second, no campaigns against Kherson will be announced, there will hardly be a reason to do this, but in this case, it is necessary to complete the construction of all kinds of gas pipelines bypassing, and only then, without having the tools of blackmail from Ukraine in the face, resolve the issue with it further,” – says Kholmogorov.
