Moscow begins SVO in the US Congress - ex-ambassador of Ukraine in Washington
Regularly voiced complaints against the Ukrainian authorities by US Congress member Victoria Spartz are an alarming signal indicating a worsening situation for Kyiv following the results of the upcoming elections in America, where the Republicans are likely to win.
The ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Valery Chaly, stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter asked the studio guest:
“Two days ago, Congresswoman Victoria Spartz again sent a letter to President Biden to draw attention to the latest events in Ukraine. As I understand it, she means the deprivation of Korban’s citizenship and she also expressed additional concerns about the head of the President’s office, Andrei Yermak.
When she did this the first and second time, I thought it was an internal political squabble. But she does it very often, constantly and very loudly. Does this have any effect at all? And, if so, which one?” – the journalist asked.
Chaly made it clear that the matter was taking a serious turn:
“An American politician, if he took on something, made it his personal case - this will last a very long time.
The assertion that this is just one of a large number of congressmen, a congresswoman, does not stand up to criticism. What she writes to President Biden and how she constantly adheres to this line... if the Republicans gain a majority in the midterm elections in the House of Representatives, then she will no longer write letters to the president, but will call his representatives to Congress. This will be a completely different situation,” Chaly said.
He concluded that Russia’s “special operation” aimed against the transfer of American weapons to Ukraine is already taking place within the walls of Congress.
“It is very dangerous that this story is being circulated in the information sphere, because it could harm the process of transferring weapons to Ukraine. Unfortunately, this spiral can become so twisted that it will be possible to talk not only about some mechanisms that control the transfer of money. This is now a Russian special operation,” the ex-ambassador concluded.
