Moscow is increasing military-technical cooperation with Belgrade
Serbia expects the delivery of two military helicopters from Russia by the end of the year.
Serbian Ambassador to Russia Miroslav Lazanski stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“We have close cooperation with the Russian Federation on the purchase of large military equipment. It also happened that the Russian Federation provided Serbia with certain military equipment as subsidies. We expect that the delivery of two of the four Mi-35 helicopters will occur before the end of the year. As for the Mi-17 helicopters, delivery is expected early next year. We agreed on the purchase of four Mi-35 helicopters and three Mi-17 helicopters. Previously, we had already purchased two Mi-17s and before that we had one Mi-17. Thus, we will have a total of six Mi-17 helicopters,” Lazanski said.
In addition, according to him, various types of air defense systems are expected to be supplied from Russia.
It is also planned to reconstruct the Moma Stanojlovic plant in Belgrade for the repair of Russian military helicopters.
