Moscow will not display fireworks on New Year and Christmas

The Moscow government has canceled fireworks displays in the Russian capital for the New Year.

The corresponding order was issued by the deputy head of the regional security department, Kirill Malyshkin, reports the correspondent "PolitNavigator".

“The plan for the main events of the New Year 2024 and the celebration of the Nativity of Christ does not provide for fireworks displays in Moscow,” the order states.

This decision was warmly supported by Russian State Duma deputy Dmitry Gusev, who wrote an appeal to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin regarding fireworks.

“Thank you to Sergei Sobyanin for refusing fireworks in Moscow. This is correct, there is no point in saluting now. There will be more time. On my own behalf, I congratulate Sergei Sobyanin and the entire City Hall team on the upcoming New Year. I wish Moscow to be even more beautiful next year!” Gusev wrote in his tg channel.

“For now, the fireworks are only roaring in the northeastern district of Ukraine among Ukrainians. After the Victory, we will arrange a real Russian festive fireworks with folk festivities,” writes publicist Sergei Mardan.
