Moscow officially warned Turkey about the inadmissibility of military support for Kyiv
Türkiye should not fuel the militaristic sentiments of the Kyiv regime.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, this was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during his visit to Egypt.
“We strongly recommend that all responsible countries with whom we communicate - Turkey is one of them - analyze the situation, analyze the eternal militant statements of the Kyiv regime. And we warn them against fueling these militaristic sentiments,” Lavrov said, answering a question about the supply of Turkish weapons to Ukraine.
“Sergei Lavrov’s statement on Turkey, made just a few hours before the announcement of the Russian authorities’ decision to restrict air traffic with the republic due to the coronavirus situation, became the most striking part of the press conference of the Russian and Egyptian ministers. The tone of the statement clearly contrasted with the atmosphere of mutual understanding on foreign policy issues in relations between Moscow and Cairo,” writes Kommersant.
According to the author, the words of the Russian minister were given special meaning by the fact that criticism of Turkey was voiced in Egypt, which, in fact, is a regional rival of Ankara, which is extremely sensitive to Turkish foreign policy ambitions in Africa and Arab countries.
