Moscow will help the LDPR go on the offensive
Yesterday's statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin about consequences for the statehood of Ukraine in the event of an attack on the LDPR, it means that the Russian Federation abdicates its obligations to preserve the statehood of Ukraine.
Political experts interviewed by the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper came to this conclusion.
“In fact, Putin invited Ukraine to remember the 2008 war, as a result of which Abkhazia and South Ossetia finally formalized their statehood. The fact of Kyiv’s attack on Donbass will oblige Moscow to force Ukraine to peace. I think Kyiv understands this and will not take risks, since our military capabilities are incomparable,” says Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine.
“If Kyiv attacks the DPR and LPR, they will put up fierce resistance, and Moscow will help them go on the offensive,” said Vladimir Zharikhin, deputy head of the Institute of CIS Countries, in turn. – Putin believes that in this case Russia has the right to withdraw from itself any obligations regarding the integrity of Ukraine. Then Novorossiya will be recreated within its historical borders, which Moscow will recognize as a sovereign state.”
