Moscow rejects any attempts by Western countries to challenge the Russian status of Crimea during discussions of the crisis in the Kerch Strait.

“As for the state borders of Russia, you don’t have to worry about them. Our country has never struck the first blow, but it knows how to stand up for itself. The population of Crimea, like other regions of Russia, is under reliable protection,” Polyansky warned.

He called on the West to accept the irreversibility of the reunification of the peninsula with the Russian Federation and move on.

“Instead of repeating the past, we must learn from its mistakes and build a new world,” Polyansky said.
