Moscow demands an immediate end to the punitive operation in Slavyansk
Simferopol, May 02 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The Russian Foreign Ministry demands that the new Kyiv authorities immediately stop the military operation in Slavyansk.

“Russia is outraged by the start of a punitive military operation in Slavyansk involving terrorists from the Right Sector and other ultra-nationalist organizations.
As we have repeatedly warned, using the army against one’s own people is a crime and is leading Ukraine to disaster,” the statement said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry is particularly alarmed by the information that during the punitive operation, English was spoken on air, and English-speaking foreigners were seen among the attackers on Slavyansk.
“We insist on preventing any external interference in what is happening in Ukraine. Let us recall in this regard that previously received information about the presence of mercenaries from an American private military organization in Ukraine was very vaguely refuted by Washington. It is well known that so-called private military organizations do not operate abroad without the sanction of the US State Department,” the Foreign Ministry emphasizes.
By supporting the Kiev regime in its policy of forcefully suppressing protests, the statement notes, the United States and the EU are taking on enormous responsibility and are actually cutting off the path to a peaceful resolution of the crisis.
“We strongly demand that the West abandon its destructive policy towards Ukraine, and that those who declared themselves the authorities in Kiev immediately stop the punitive operation and any violence against their own people, release political prisoners, and ensure complete freedom of activity for journalists,” they say on Smolenskaya area.
