Moscow has put forward its conditions to the West and Ukraine

“A week ago it seemed that progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements was really just around the corner,” the publication notes. – Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande announced their intention to hold a meeting of the Normandy Four before July 8, when NATO countries gather for their annual summit in Warsaw. Just in case, the Kremlin also “cleared” the president’s schedule by canceling planned trips to Altai and Yakutia (on Wednesday it also became known about the cancellation of the GDP’s visit to Veliky Novgorod, but there were apparently other reasons for this decision). However, after the failure of negotiations at the level of foreign ministers, which traditionally precede summit meetings, it became clear that the deadlock had not yet been moved forward. Moscow did not see any signal that could prompt the Kremlin to take the first step that Vladimir Putin spoke about at SPIEF.”
“The prerequisites for such a meeting could arise only if the Ukrainian side demonstrates its readiness to take steps that are clearly stated in the Minsk agreements. Unfortunately, such readiness is not demonstrated,” the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov voiced the position of the Russian side.
“Now the Kremlin will be waiting for the results of the NATO summit, within the framework of which Poroshenko’s meetings with Hollande, Merkel and Obama are planned. And count on the fact that Western leaders will take Erdogan’s example and pragmatism into account,” MK sums up.
