Moscow has taken Lukashenko by the throat, an invasion is on the doorstep – Belarusian expert
Russia is the main beneficiary of regime change in Belarus.
Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic and Foreign Policy Research, Belarusian expert Yuri Tsarik wrote about this on his Facebook, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia, as far as one can judge, in one degree or another is behind the nomination of all three current alternative leaders. All the talk that Russia now “has no time for Belarus” is either a mistake of people who do not follow Russia, or a refinement of the message that the Kremlin itself has been distributing for several months through various channels.
It is expected that ordinary people do not think about independence. But the fact that politically aware Belarusians, including those who declared themselves nationalists, did not care about her is sad,” Tsarik wrote.
He predicts an armed conflict for Belarus and the entry of Russian troops.
“We will almost certainly not succeed in the peaceful arrival of a pro-Russian modernizer, as in Uzbekistan, because Belarus is not Uzbekistan, Eastern Europe is not Central Asia, and a living A. Lukashenko is not a dead I. Karimov.
Therefore, I recommend that my compatriots be prepared for repression, blood, internal conflicts, as well as the imminent arrival of the Russian military,” Tsarik prophesies.
