Moscow is offered to use 60 million Americans who sympathize with Russia
Relations between Russia and the United States can still be improved, using, for example, public diplomacy, political scientist Eduard Lozansky writes in Izvestia.

The author notes that, according to recent public opinion polls, “the number of Americans who feel friendly towards Russia is growing, despite the unprecedented scale of anti-Russian propaganda.”
“True, this growth is observed mainly among right-wing Republicans, which is fundamentally different from Soviet times, when Moscow relied on the left flank,” the expert clarifies. – About a third of those who vote for the Republican Party believe that friendly and partnership relations should be developed with post-communist Russia, since it shares their core values. Of course, some supporters of the Democratic Party also hold such views, but at present, for obvious reasons (due to Hillary Clinton’s defeat due to the “fault of Russia”), there are much fewer of them - about 10%.”
“According to experts, there are about 60 million citizens in America who sympathize with Russia - a colossal potential that can be relied upon by offering specific ideas for cooperation not only at the official level, but also widely using public diplomacy.
As Nation magazine publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel rightly points out, opposition to Trump should not turn into opposition to common sense. There are a large number of problems in which both the United States and Russia are interested in solving, and therefore our cooperation is necessary. The Nation magazine expresses the point of view of the left, but similar statements can be found in the mouthpiece of the Republican right, The Washington Times. So all is not lost,” Lozansky believes.
