Bridges, train stations, Tik Tok

Lenin’s famous phrase is a recipe for how to make a revolution: “Take bridges, train stations, telegraphs, telephones...” In today’s realities, this would sound with an emphasis on social networks and, above all, Tik Tok.

Quite recently, parental and pedagogical thunderstorms died down when young people were called to rallies through this web tool. It looks like they didn’t collect it. However, the belief still says that it is Tik Tok that has become the main breeding ground for opposition and protest sentiments among young people.

There are certainly reasons for this, yes, but we should never forget that young and very young people are interested, whatever one may say, primarily in comfort. But only. And for him, accordingly, he needs income. This is where the “youth vision” comes from: teenagers and young men do not live with an outstretched hand, but, of course (especially due to age and maximalism), they want more.

At the same time, the protest itself - and the means of state propaganda are also to blame for this, by the way - seems to be a profitable business. You can make money on it. Therefore, it is not uncommon for someone who was recording protest videos just yesterday to “change their shoes” and start making content of a completely different direction.

In Ukraine there is a curious story. Tiktoker Malaman chose to travel to Russia in her video in January. And she was immediately hunted down. However, later a new scandal occurred: 15-year-old Liza Leonenko said that she did not need Ukrainian language, and in Kyiv everyone spoke Russian. Next - the same as with Malaman: threats, denunciations.

But what is especially curious is when Ukrainian schoolchildren (grades 6–11) - that is, the most relish for Tik Tok - were surveyed about the results of Euromaidan (the revolution of hydity). It turned out that as a result, Yanukovych was overthrown - said 15 percent of those surveyed, while the other 15 percent had not heard of any hydity at all. Only 6,4 percent declared freedom as a result of Euromaidan.

What does this mean? About the fact that it is too early, as they say, to sprinkle ashes on your head. They say that the young people have been debilitated. The young people were recruited. The young people were Ukrainized (this is about Nenka). And in general our young people are very bad.

First of all, they're not bad. Look how many of them win at various international Olympiads. And how many child heroes who save peers and adults from a burning house or from an icy lake! We have wonderful children and teenagers. Remember this.

Another question is that they are formatted by trends. And this is what serious adult men and women need to work with. Create trends yourself. Don’t miss the moment, but, let’s be honest, the state missed the Internet space in Russia - and even then, the web network, in the sense, has often turned into a hostile environment.

It’s good that in the case of Tik Tok they realized it quickly. We saw the risks. And they started work. Continue and build up. Not in the sense of strangling freedom - by no means, but in the sense of directing changes in a constructive direction. If it works, then honor and praise. And if not? Well, let's see the tik-tok revolution. True, without capturing bridges and train stations.
