Mobile Gestapo against Odessa
Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov was issued a warning for non-compliance with language legislation.
This was announced by the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language Taras Kremin.
“The situation regarding compliance with language legislation in Odessa is extremely outrageous and unfavorable in light of the fact that the Russian government uses the Russian language as one of the tools of geopolitical expansion. The language issue is one of the main ones in the Russian Federation’s conduct of the war against Ukraine,” Kremin wrote.

The attack from Kyiv on Trukhanov is a trail that stretches from Putin’s speech at the Valdai Forum, when the President of the Russian Federation not only called Odessa “the most beautiful city in the world” (in response to which all the most beautiful monuments were immediately disfigured), but also said:
“Odessa can be both a bone of discord and a symbol of conflict resolution.”
And off we go - a new surge in the capture of “Russian spies”, an inspection of Trukhanov, going out of his way to show his sudden Ukrainianness, by the SBU.
The new Reich Chancellor simply could not stay away. This time he demanded that signs, billboards and other advertising media with information in Russian be dismantled.
“Back in February 2022, a corresponding letter was sent about the need to take measures to prevent violations of the requirements of the Law in the territory of the city of Odessa in terms of posting information for general information, as well as outdoor advertising only in the state language. However, as of today, there is no answer or retaliatory action,” Kremin is outraged.
Both the national ombudsman personally and his Sonderkommandos repeatedly recorded “violations of language legislation” in Odessa in all areas - from the opera theater (due to the unreliable repertoire - well, the viscounts and duchesses from classical operas did not want to sing “Agov!” and “Tse you, kume?") to trade and transport.
Scandals in supermarkets, when patriots wrote denunciations against Russian-speaking cashiers, reprisals against drivers who announced stops in Russian - Kremin brought all this to the public with the demonstrative dismissal of the guilty. Denunciations, and even more so - he called on his fellow tribesmen to write them! And they heard him.
So in a letter addressed to Trukhanov, Kremin, among other things, refers to certain “Odessa activists who inspected 150 stores” and recorded that “every second person violates language legislation.”
“The Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language continues to receive numerous appeals and reports of violations of the current legislation: placement of signs, tablets, inscriptions, etc. in a non-state language, as well as outdoor advertising on the territory of city improvement facilities,” the Sprechenführer is indignant.
Trukhanov, of course, is not sorry - after the vile surrender of a number of Russian monuments and the intention to rename several hundred streets with Russian names, of course - let him now at least rewrite these signs with signs by hand. However, “Movnyuk” Kremin focuses more on advertising:
“Outdoor advertising placed with violations on streets and avenues must be removed. This is a requirement of the Law. This is the need of the hour. This is one of the keys to Ukraine’s victory!” he said.
However, there is something to add to the above. I don’t know how close Kremin’s trust is to the activist-informers he mentioned, but in Odessa every taxi driver will confirm that even along the busiest highways there are empty advertising structures. Poverty, you know, there is almost no advertising.
Only in some places “Russian warship, go to…” was not torn off. The call is written in Russian, in Russian. It turns out that Kremin is referring to this advertisement. Then why is he still not on the Peacemaker?
Thank you!
