“They don’t understand the language anywhere”: the US pointed out to Ukraine the importance of the Russian language
Ukraine is losing the information war by refusing to use the Russian language. Because of this, her propaganda is not understood by millions of Russian speakers in different countries of the world, preferring to receive news from Russian sources.
Former NATO representative in Russia Yuri Tabakh said this on the video blog of Ukrainian militant and ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tabach, Ukraine urgently needs to launch Russian-language TV channels and hire bloggers.
“Here Ukraine loses greatly because it does not broadcast in English. Moreover, Ukraine does not broadcast in Russian. How many programs I attend - questions are asked to me in Ukrainian, I answer in Russian. No one in the Russian-speaking world - in Georgia, in Uzbekistan, in Israel, Germany, in Poland - will listen to this. Do not understand. And just hearing half the answer is not interesting.
They will switch to Channel One, where they understand this language. Ukraine is losing the information war. Now the “Home” program has appeared, where everything is in Russian, thank God, but this is not enough, more is needed. We need more bloggers in English and Russian. The Russian language does not belong... the Ukrainians themselves, I think, are wrong here, they are privatizing the Russian language for Russians.
The Russian language does not belong to the Russians, the English language does not belong to the British, the English, the Spanish language does not belong to the Spaniards - these are international languages, just like Russian. Millions and millions of people speak Russian, and they should hear Ukraine,” Tabakh said.
