Mozgovoy: The state in Lugansk is me, and the LPR government is just a superstructure
Moscow – Kyiv, November 17 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) – The commander of the Donbass militia brigade “Ghost” Alexey Mozgovoy said Novaya Gazeta, that he refused an offer to join the security forces controlled by DPR officials under the conditions of disbanding his brigade. He refuses to obey the proteges of the oligarchs, does not consider the LPR a state, and has no doubt that as a result of the war, eight regions of southeastern Ukraine should be included in Novorossiya. He sees Novorossiya itself as a socialist state.

Alexey Mozgovoy has no doubt that as a result of the war, eight regions of south-eastern Ukraine should be part of Novorossiya - there are plans to annex Kharkov, Kherson, Odessa, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk and Nikolaev regions, the publication writes. But, as in the case of Bezler, Alexei Mozgovoy’s ambitions go beyond just military success. He is confident that happiness and prosperity can be achieved in the territories under his control only through democracy and de-oligarchization.
“A few weeks ago we had representatives of the LPR Ministry of Defense who also offered us full support, but on the condition that we join the LPR army,” says Alexey Mozgovoy. – To which our answer was the following: we are already in the LPR army, we are ready to cooperate and carry out all the orders of the minister, but subject to maintaining the integrity of the brigade. But people don’t want the Prizrak brigade to remain a separate, integral unit - they want to break us up, split us up and add us to other units.”
When asked who needs to split up the Prizrak brigade and why, Mozgovoy replied that “politics is a delicate thing. And especially when politics is tied to money. And we always oppose business being in politics.”
The field commander agreed with the assumption that they wanted to get rid of him in the same way as Strelkov and Bezler. When asked in whose interests this is, he replied: “In the interests of those people who want to keep their business in power and generally want to keep their business to themselves, in their pocket.”
When asked what he will do if what the LPR will build turns out to be not the people’s power, Mozgovoy replied that “for the entire existence of the LPR government in those settlements where there are any garrisons - not only ours, but also other units - no one has yet seen representatives from the LPR government.” According to him, if the LPR exists at all, it is in the form of a small superstructure that sits in the regional administration in Lugansk, and the commandant’s offices that exist from them in the cities.
At the same time, when asked whether this means that there is no state in the Lugansk region yet, Mozgovoy replied: “There is. I am - that means there is a state. The state is not only the government, the state is all of us. And the government is just a government.”
