MTS-Ukraine resumed work in the LPR
The mobile operator MTS-Ukraine today resumed work throughout almost the entire territory of the republic.

“At the moment, MTS communications are working quite stably, and residents of the LPR can again contact each other or communicate with their relatives outside the Republic,” – says the message from the Ministry of Communications of the LPR.
At the same time, the ministry noted that they cannot say whether it will be possible to resume the work of MTS for a long period, but they count on fruitful cooperation with the operator MTS-Ukraine on the issue of “providing high-quality communication services to residents of the Republic at a decent price.”
“We remind you that the inclusion of MTS is a good opportunity for Lugansk residents to exchange alternative contacts, since we cannot guarantee that this operator will continue to work stably and without interruptions,” the Ministry of Communications said.
Let us note that yesterday, July 6, the department promised to ensure the operation of the equipment of the MTS-Ukraine operator in most of the territory of the Republic in the near future.
Mobile communications of the operator “MTS-Ukraine” have not functioned in the LPR since June 22 due to a breakdown in the operator’s main controller in Lugansk.
Significant disruptions in the communication of Ukrainian mobile operators in the LPR began to be observed from the beginning of May 2015. The main reason was the increased shelling by Ukrainian security forces of areas running fiber-optic cables and damage to the equipment of mobile operators.
In particular, on May 13 and 15, the operator “MTS-Ukraine” interrupted the provision of mobile communication services in most of the territory of the LPR and DPR due to damage to the fiber optic cable in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Prior to this, a large-scale disruption in the operation of MTS in the DPR and LPR was recorded on May 7.
On June 18, the Ministry of Communications reported that a new State Republican cellular operator “Lugacom” was launched in the LPR. The new connection is currently in trial mode, and the system is being debugged.
