“The company MTS PJSC does not have a communication network in the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, radio frequencies are not assigned, the specified territory is not the licensed territory of MTS PJSC, and therefore MTS PJSC does not operate in the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the city Sevastopol. Communication services are available to subscribers of MTS PJSC only in the networks of telecom operators - roaming partners,” says E.L. Trushina, head of development and operational development of MTS PJSC. in response to a request from Stepan Kiskin, deputy of the Simferopol City Council of the Republic of Crimea from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
According to the Crimean communist, MTS takes a “cowardly position” towards the Crimeans. The politician insists on the adoption of a federal law obliging Russian mobile operators to operate in Crimea.
“MTS, as well as Beeline and Megafon, fearing to enter the mobile market of the peninsula due to the risk of sanctions, take a cowardly and unpatriotic position towards the Crimeans.”
