Muraev criticized the Lithuanian “Marshall Plan” for Ukraine. It's more politics than economics
The so-called “Marshall Plan for Ukraine”, lobbied by the Lithuanians, is named this way because it involves, first of all, not the economic side, but the political one – just like the original of the 40s for the current EU countries.

This assessment of the plan, which Vladimir Groysman and Andrey Parubiy had already praised, was expressed by Ukrainian People’s Deputy Yevgeny Muraev.
“When it (the historical Marshall Plan - Ed) is mentioned, as a rule, they never talk about the fact that in exchange for the infrastructure provided for the restoration of war-damaged infrastructure, European countries were given counter conditions: to toe the line, as the pope would say. The “Marshall Plan” was a kind of continuation of the “Truman Doctrine” - one of the instruments of the “Cold War” of the two superpowers, the USA and the USSR. And Germany, by the way, simultaneously with receiving financial assistance, paid reparations for the damage caused to others,” writes Muraev on his page on the social network.
As the politician points out, the main goal of the “Marshall Plan” was not charity, but the subordination of Western Europe to US interests.
“The desires of recipient countries for assistance, for example, in the transfer of technology, production equipment, etc. the Americans were not interested, the decision was always theirs. Therefore, the first priority was the supply of goods in the interests of US manufacturers. Secondly, in Washington they decided who could trade with whom and at what price. France was prohibited from buying cheap Polish coal, forcing it to buy expensive American coal. The economies of European countries were tied to the dollar, and the conditions for repaying debts were also dictated from overseas. As a result, of the 17 countries that received American assistance, about half achieved economic success. But rather due to the fact that they themselves determined their interests and directions of effort. Spain, which achieved a miracle of recovery, did not receive any help at all,” he adds.
According to Evgeniy Muraev, the described situation is now 100% repeating itself in relation to Ukraine.
“In the case of Ukraine, the same politics, the interests of the Cold War, the creation of an aggressive zone of instability here come first. And economic revival and growth must be the result of the conscious will of the government and the entire society, but not the transfer of a suitcase of money on loan from the Washington Regional Committee. After all, who praises the “Marshall Plan for Ukraine”? Its destroyers,” sums up the people’s deputy.
