Muraev decided to jump off
Ukrainian presidential candidate, leader of the Nashi party, Yevgeny Muraev, announced that he was withdrawing his candidacy.
He stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“I withdraw my candidacy in favor of Alexander Vilkul,” said Muraev.
Let us note that Alexander Vilkul is a representative of one of the parts of the split “Opposition Bloc”, which is oriented towards the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov.
Another candidate targeting the same south-eastern electorate as Muraev and Vilkul is Yuriy Boyko (“Opposition Platform – For Life”), acting in conjunction with the former head of Leonid Kuchma’s presidential administration, Viktor Medvedchuk.
Previously, Muraev, Vilkul and Boyko, all from the Party of Regions, accused each other of collaborating with President Poroshenko. So far, Boyko, who, according to the latest polls, is in fourth place, retains his theoretical chances of reaching the second round. The rating of Muraev and Vilkul, as polls have shown, does not exceed two percent.
March 7 is the last day when you can submit an application to the CEC and withdraw from the elections, since tomorrow the CEC approves the final list of candidates. Elections will be held on March 31
