Muratov presented a photo of Gorbachev drinking to a German university
Nobel laureate-foreign agent, former editor-in-chief of Novaya Gazeta Dmitry Muratov donated a photo of the late USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev to the university of the German city of Bonn.
He said that the photo was taken during a drinking session at the Novaya Gazeta editorial office. Gorbachev said that no one would drink until he read his speech to them at the UN, then he took out a thick report, but said only one phrase: ban war.
“Then this great photograph was taken. Gorbachev loved to snack on tomatoes and eggs. And in this unique photo, he holds the egg as fragile as the planet. Let’s remember these words of the man who didn’t let me drink and said: ban war,” Muratov said, handing over the photo.
