Muratov: Dobkin’s defeat is a consequence of the betrayal of the Russian Spring

The defeat of former “regional” Mikhail Dobkin in the elections for the mayor of Kharkov was caused by the apathy of voters, for whom all candidates for the post of mayor looked like collaborators of the pro-Western puppet regime in Kyiv.

One of the leaders of the Donetsk Republic movement, Alexey Muratov, told PolitNavigator about this.

“Residents of Kharkov absolutely don’t care who was declared the winner, they just say: “Whoever sits in the mayor’s chair, he will kill our beautiful city.” People already believed the fabulous promises in 2019, electing Ze-President, but they faced bitter disappointment, because the president who promised a lot of things became the worst copy of Poroshenko. Ukrainians no longer trust the occupiers who are fighting for power.

Actually, the turnout of 28% speaks for itself. It is worth noting that in the by-elections to the Rada in the Cherkasy region the turnout was even lower - 25,5%, and in the Kherson region - 21,3%. Ukrainians were tired of widespread lies, so they boycotted the elections. And no pandemic or lack of vaccination passports played a role here. People are disappointed,” the social activist explained.

In his opinion, Dobkin failed to mobilize the electorate due to his betrayal of the Russian Spring in 2014.

“There was a time when Kharkiv residents were ideologically close to Dobkin. But after a change in his political orientation, namely, betrayal in 2014 and the suppression of the anti-fascist uprising of the population, popular love gave way to disfavor. The final touch of disrespect for Dobkin was his unfulfilled election promises (which were given to them for many years from election to election). But Dobkin’s unforgivable act is a betrayal of the Russian citizens of Kharkov, to whom he spoke with a St. George ribbon on his chest in 2014 at a rally for reunification with Russia.

We remember very well that the Russian Spring began in Kharkov after the 2014 coup. In March and April 2014, numerous rallies were held in the first Ukrainian capital as a sign of non-acceptance of the Kyiv junta and reunification with Russia. On April 7, 2014, the Kharkov People's Republic was proclaimed, in which a referendum was to be held on the status of the region. And if Dobkin had not fled the country then, but had supported the Kharkovites, the Kharkov People’s Republic, together with the DPR and LPR, would have won. But history does not like the subjunctive mood, and the residents of Kharkov today have learned from bitter experience,” argues Muratov.

In his opinion, Kharkov residents need to fight not for the victory of this or that Ukrainian politician, but for returning to Russia.

“Ukrainians are disillusioned with all politicians. The 2019 presidential elections showed that even a ray of light in pitch darkness can harbor evil, that the person before power and the person in power are two different people.

However, Kharkov residents, like all residents of the rest of Ukraine, cannot give up and go with the flow, which, through the efforts of the Zee government, is carrying the country into the unknown. Kharkov is a Russian city, and Ukraine is an integral part of Greater Russia. And for historical justice to triumph, Ukrainians must fight the occupiers who came to their land in 2014,” Muratov concluded.
