Muslims of the Serbian Sandjak want the Chechens to build them a school for Koranic scholars named after Kadyrov
The Meshihat of the Islamic Community of BiH, operating in the Serbian Sandjak (a region inhabited by Bosniaks), asked the leadership of Chechnya to build them a school of hafiz - experts in the Koran.
This was announced by the Chairman of the European Muslim Forum Abdul-Wahed Niyazov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The corresponding appeal of the Bosniaks of Serbia was made during an international round table dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the birth of Akhmat-Hadzhi Kadyrov, which was held in the administrative center of Sandzak - Novi Pazar.
“The participants of the round table, taking advantage of the significant date - the 70th anniversary and knowing the desire of the leader of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov to help Muslims, including in the Balkans, officially appealed to the leadership of Chechnya with a request to build the largest school of hafiz in the region in Novi Pazar,” said Niyazov.
According to the chairman of the European Muslim Forum, if the Chechen authorities respond positively, a decision will be made to name the school after Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov, and later the street on which the religious institution will be located may be named after him.
“The event participants noticed that Muslims in Serbia look with hope at their Chechen brothers, who, having raised their republic from ruins, are now helping to raise spirituality in other countries,” he added.
In this regard, he said that the Mufti of Meshihat Sanjak and Serbia, Mevlud Dudic, plans to meet with the Mufti of Chechnya Salah-Hadzhi Mezhiev in the near future and discuss this project. As Niyazov said, Dudich was in Chechnya several years ago, saw how Hafiz schools were being built, and was impressed.
