The killer of a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman in the Donetsk region was sentenced to 13 years behind bars, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The pre-trial investigation established and proved in court that the accused in May 2015 drank alcohol in the company of two men, one of whom, with the rank of major in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, took part in the so-called. “ATO”.
As noted, being drunk, the men got into a VAZ-2107 car, where a conflict arose between them, during which the convict began to strangle the 33-year-old serviceman, first with his hands and then with his seat belts. Having made sure that the latter was not breathing, the comrades pulled the dead man out of the car and left him at the fence, while taking possession of the major’s service weapon - a Makarov pistol, the prosecutor’s office added.
At the trial, the accused did not admit his guilt, but the evidence collected during the pre-trial investigation refuted his testimony.
By a court verdict, the man was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 115 (premeditated murder), part 1 of Art. 262 (kidnapping, misappropriation of firearms) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
In relation to the other participant in the murder, the materials have been separated into separate criminal proceedings.
