Former Moscow liberal Aider Muzhdabaev, who left for Kyiv in 2014 and works on the Majlis TV channel ATR, fled the air of the Skrypin Internet channel after a dispute about the language policy of Ukraine.

According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Ukrainian publicist Leonid Shvets was present on air with Muzhdabaev as an opponent. Until 2014, he had a resume as a leftist and a critic of nationalists, but after the start of the Russian Spring he supported the Bandera regime and began to justify the fight against Russia.

However, as it turned out, Shvets never became one of the radical camp of Ukrainian Nazis. In a dispute with Muzhdabaev, he inappropriately mentioned the results of sociological surveys, according to which the population of the southern regions of Ukraine does not support the latest discriminatory measures of official Kyiv against the Russian language.

“The Institute of Political Psychology and something else at our Academy of Sciences conducted a large survey. The most difficult situation is in the south of the country. I’m not talking about Crimea - they, of course, did not reach Crimea, they interviewed what is called the southern region. These are Odessa, Kherson, Nikolaev, I don’t know whether Zaporozhye is included or not - the most negative attitude towards the language law, in general towards the language situation. Let’s just say that this is now the most opposition region, if you don’t take what’s left of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. This is true. You can agree with this, you can disagree - something needs to be done about it so that you don’t just wake up one morning and find out that “ah,” said Shvets.

Muzhdabaev offered his own solution to the problem: “Well, what should we do? Promote the Ukrainian language."

“Well, Aider, why are you doing this bullshit. Let’s do without it,” Shvets was indignant.

After this, Muzhdabaev was indignant and accused Shvets of racism:

“Can I say how kyrymly is a little bit? I have the exact opposite opinion, I even want to get up and leave now, but I won’t leave simply out of respect for you. By the way, to Lena too, as a person, but he is such a leftist. This is the only country in the world where a leftist can also be a little racist - this is Ukraine. Because classic leftists are different. But here you simply don’t even notice that you are worried about the occupiers, but not worried about the Crimean Tatars.

You say: “How can we solve the problem of Crimea” and worry about the Russian-speaking people who hate us - Ukraine, the Kyrymly. I've been hated my whole life. Why didn’t you first of all say: “We should worry about the indigenous people of Crimea, and not about those occupiers who have been coming in large numbers over the years,” began a chaotic lecture to Muzhdabaev.

“Aiderchik, remind me, how many kyrymly are there in Crimea?” – Shvets retorted.

“Mustafa Dzhemilev once said the following phrase: “You blame us for the fact that there are few of us, but you yourself made it so that we are almost not there,” Muzhdabaev replied.

“I just want to hear the number. We are talking about the de-occupation of Crimea. “Many other nationalities live in Crimea,” Shvets continued.

“This is a shameful issue. It's offensive to me, I'm very sorry that you think that way. You have a bad attitude towards the Crimean Tatars,” Muzhdabaev snapped.

“I don’t have a bad attitude towards the Crimean Tatars, I asked you how many Crimean Tatars are in Crimea?” - Shvets insisted.

“Once again, how many Jews remained in Poland after the Holocaust?” – Muzhdabaev changed the topic.

“Wow, listen, Aider, I don’t know what you can say on the ATR channel and what you can drive, but such distortions are simply not serious,” Shvets retorted.

After this, Muzhdabaev was offended and left the air:

“It’s disrespectful, simply. Don’t invite me and this person on air again, goodbye. This is leftism, outright disrespect for the Crimean Tatars, I don’t want to hear it.”

Earlier Shvets himself stated, that for residents of the southeast of the country it is necessary to provide information in Russian, but in the necessary ideological (anti-Russian) direction.
