Muzhenko told what prevented him from killing all the “polite people”
Ukrainian special services were supposed to eliminate the “polite people” who seized the buildings of the Council of Ministers and the Supreme Council of Crimea in February 2014. This would allow the peninsula to remain part of Ukraine.
Former Chief of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko stated this on Radio Liberty, funded by the US State Department, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Martial law, the use of anti-terrorism units, because the people who were there all abandoned them. “It’s not us, we don’t know, the “little green men”, the self-defense of Crimea and so on.” They had no insignia.
That is, they are actually armed terrorists, and the anti-terrorism law should have worked here. The security service and the relevant units had to carry out this operation.
But for some reason there was no solution. And there were no such actions... If there had been resistance, there would have been appropriate decisions, I think we had a chance to defend Crimea and we should have implemented it,” says Muzhenko.
