“In Kherson, people still don’t fully understand that war takes away those closest and dearest. War sometimes takes away children. They did not see the war here, because here (at Perekop) the enemy simply came and took up positions. No bombs exploded here, no women and children died here. And this is not clear. Therefore, we must behave toughly and principled, tell them that it is only by the will of God that war did not come to their land. Every Ukrainian should talk about the war, should fall asleep and wake up with this thought. And only if there will be victory when we all stand on the front line,” the official said on the channel’s airwaves ATR.
Answering a journalist’s question whether the entire police thinks the way he does, Ilya Kiva said: “I’ll be honest, half the police don’t think at all, not to mention one way or another.” Answering the question about how the local Kherson authorities treat him personally, Ilya Kiva said: “But I don’t behave differently and leave no chance to treat myself differently. You can only support me."
“The question is not decommunization, the question is Ukrainization. I already talked about this. We will tell, explain, explain again, but if they don’t want to hear us, we will impose. We have no other chance, no other land, we will not have another opportunity. Everyone must clearly understand: there is an enemy, and you must kill him. And there is a victory that you must achieve. This is a condition of war. We are now at war,” added the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
