The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is powerless against rampant crime
Ukraine is overwhelmed by a wave of street and domestic crime, which law enforcement officers are unable to cope with.
The founder of the criminal intelligence department of the Office for Combating Organized Crime, Valery Kur, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication Apostrophe.
According to him, now the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has become a political instrument that has no time to fight crime.
“A small group of professionals is simply physically unable to carry a huge amount of work. Now the ratio is incredible - 1 employee per 100 materials - this has never happened before. Street crime and domestic crime are off the charts. The crime detection rate is very low. Statistics deceive us - they say that everything is fine, and the level of trust is high, and the disclosure rate is high. And we understand that the mass of crimes is so great that there is simply no time to register applications,” said Kur.
He also says that today “there are only a few of those who actually fight crime,” despite the fact that the militarized security unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been inflated to unprecedented proportions.
“Everyone knows that crime is fought not with machine guns and armored personnel carriers, and not with athletic and strong young men armed to the teeth, but with professionals - investigators, detectives, experts, who, often, in decades of good work, have never even seen a gun. they used it, and they don’t know how to fight, and their health “doesn’t shine” from such work. And today this little bunch of professionals don’t even have time, as we say, to “throw in a piece of paper” about what they did, and even less so to do something relevant,” sums up the veteran of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
