“Initially, an arrow was appointed between representatives of the Right Sector and Mikhail Lanyo at the Dragon restaurant, in Mukachevo on Lermontov Street. Later the meeting was moved to the nearby Antares sports complex. Both of these enterprises are controlled by Mikhail Lanyo.
Representatives of the Right Sector arrived in four jeeps, 21 people in total. We approached the gate, the security guard was asked to call Mikhail Lanyo. After an altercation, the guard was shot in the head. He is now in intensive care.
At approximately 13:20, duty number 102 received a message that people in camouflage were blocking Lermontov Street. City police chief Vitaly Shimanyak arrived at the scene. During the negotiations, he was given an ultimatum to surrender his weapons. When the boss refused, shooting began - representatives of the Right Sector fired into the air, and a smoke bomb exploded. The jeeps rammed a police UAZ and a chase began.
At the Mukachevo-Kolchino fork we took the Kyiv-Chop highway. The highway was blocked in the gas station area by three MVS vehicles. The first jeep of the Right Sector column was equipped with a Kalashnikov belt machine gun. Shooting was also carried out from RPGs and Mukh. Three police cars were destroyed, a column of jeeps broke into the Red Mountain area, at the entrance to Mukachevo from the Kyiv-Chop highway.
As a result of the shootout, two representatives of the Right Sector were killed, four police officers were wounded, three of them lightly and one seriously. At the moment, it is known that among the representatives of the PS there are soldiers of the Sogechko battalion, who regularly took part in battles on the eastern front.
Now about the reasons. According to local stories, this is a redivision of the cigarette smuggling market. I’m trying to find out who shared what with whom.”
Almost simultaneously with Nayem, the situation in Mukachevo commented expert at the Institute of Political Education, a native of Transcarpathia, Alexander Solontay.
“The situation in Mukachevo is not a destabilization of Western Ukraine and is not at all a blow from the rear by Putin, etc. The conflict arose naturally, writes Solontay.
What happened is a consequence of the chaos in relations between the battalions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which we know as volunteer, the Ministry of Internal Affairs itself, part of which protects the bandits, and the Armed Forces. All parties here are wrong, and such conflicts will be repeated until all military structures are completely subordinated to the army, which must also be restored to order!” – Solontay wrote.
