IMF will give Ukraine money only after the war
Kyiv, January 27 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – The International Monetary Fund will increase funding for Ukraine subject to the completion of hostilities and stabilization of the situation in the country. About this in an interview with a French newspaper Le Monde stated the head of the IMF Christine Lagarde.

As the head of the fund recalled, in the spring of 2014, when calculating possible schemes for providing financial assistance to Ukraine, IMF experts proceeded from the fact that the conflict in the east of the country would end no later than the fall. “Today these hypotheses have lost their force. Now we are working on other options, in particular, extending the period given to Ukraine to carry out reforms by four years,” Lagarde said.
The amount of funding that Kyiv could count on during this period will also “probably be slightly higher than expected,” the IMF director added, while emphasizing that everything will depend on military-political factors.
