The new four-year lending program must be approved by the IMF's executive body, which represents the lender's 188 member countries.
The approval process will be difficult if the militias continue to seize new territories such as Mariupol, one of the interlocutors said.
Another source noted that the IMF may continue to support Ukraine as long as Kyiv does not enter into open confrontation with Moscow.
The IMF Board of Directors will consider the issue of assistance to Ukraine on March 11, the agency reports, citing a message from the fund. There is no indication that the lender intends to abandon the program.

Let us recall that earlier British Prime Minister David Cameron threatened to disconnect Russia from SWIFT, and he also promised to do this if the militias took Mariupol.
