The IMF does not consider Crimea Ukrainian
The International Monetary Fund, in its November review of the European economy, considered Crimea and Sevastopol part of Russia
Izvestia writes about this after having read the relevant IMF document.
“The peculiarity of the IMF study lies in one important reservation made to the calculations of indicators for Russia. The review states that data on Crimea and the city of Sevastopol are included as part of the data for Russia,” the publication notes.
At the same time, the IMF press service did not promptly answer the publication’s question about the reasons for including Crimea and Sevastopol in the review of the Russian economy.
“The result of such a step could be a negative reaction from Ukraine, experts suggest. Thus, the Ukrainian authorities have already sharply criticized the Google navigation service, which included the borders of Crimea on its maps as part of the all-Russian ones,” the authors of the publication recall.
As PolitNavigator reported, most UN countries refused to recognize Crimea as Ukrainian.
