Kyiv, January 23 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk must admit that the IMF deceived Ukraine and is not going to allocate money to it. Director of the Ukrainian Analytical Center Alexander Okhrimenko writes about this in his blog.

According to him, Ukraine has fulfilled all the IMF requirements put forward to it at the end of April last year. However, the fund, for its part, provided only 4,6 billion dollars, although it promised 7,4 billion.

“According to the agreement signed by Ukraine and the IMF at the end of April 2014, Ukraine assumed obligations and fulfilled them: it released the hryvnia exchange rate, increased housing and communal services tariffs for the population by 40-60%, reduced wages for teachers and doctors, and froze them, froze pensions for Ukrainians, introduced a tax on income from deposits. As a result of all the actions, the hryvnia exchange rate fell almost twice, inflation exceeded 25%, GDP fell, but the state budget deficit decreased, although the Naftogaz deficit only grew, and, most importantly, Ukraine’s gold and foreign exchange reserves fell to a critical level of 7,5 billion . dollars,” writes Okhrimenko.

At the same time, he notes that Ukraine, for its part, also paid $3,7 billion to repay the loan last year.

“This once again shows very well that the IMF simply does not fulfill its obligations. But at the same time, the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk, frankly speaking, violating the Constitution and all laws of Ukraine, actually “over the shoulder” adopted a large number of changes to the Tax Code and forced deputies to adopt an unrealistic state budget for 2015, only to please the IMF and try to get money from it credit.

Maybe stop flirting with the IMF? The government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk needs to make negotiations with the IMF mission public so that the Ukrainian people know how some of our people are selling Ukraine to the Americans, and for how much,” notes the economic expert.

Okhrimenko is confident that Ukraine must now tell the IMF: Kyiv will not repay its debts until the fund fully fulfills its previous obligations.
