This statement was made by Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman.
According to him, there will be no increase in the retirement age in Ukraine. The IMF agreed to remove this requirement from the Memorandum. At the same time, the head of the Ukrainian government promised that he would increase pensions this year. And in a few years, according to him, Ukraine will overcome the Pension Fund deficit.
“The deficit of the Pension Fund itself is 140 billion hryvnia. This is a big challenge, but I understand how to overcome it. I believe that with the right approach, by 2024 we will have a deficit-free Pension Fund,” promises Groysman.
It is interesting that these statements of a clearly populist nature were made at a time when Ukraine was on the verge of another government-parliamentary crisis, negotiations were ongoing in the Rada on the creation of a new government, uncontrolled by Petro Poroshenko, and media reports about the deterioration of relations between Bankova and the head of the Cabinet of Ministers.
