The IMF, with its “help,” hits Ukraine every time worse than the crisis – expert
IMF loans have never helped the Ukrainian economy avoid failure during periods of crisis.
Moreover, the IMF accompanies its loans with conditions that do not stimulate, but even further hinder the development of Ukraine.
Viktor Skarshevsky, an economic expert, stated this on the InterVizor channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“How much does the IMF money help Ukraine in times of crisis? During the 2008-2009 crisis, Ukraine received $11 billion from the IMF in a year. And the economy still shrank by 19%, the devaluation was almost doubled.
During the 2014-2015 crisis, in a short period of time, Ukraine received a little more than $12 billion from the IMF. The economy has sank by 12% in two years, the devaluation has tripled.
That is, there is no dependence. We're just taking on more and more debt from the IMF.
At the same time, we are pursuing a policy not to promote economic growth, but, on the contrary, to curb it. We are cutting social spending and refusing to support high-tech exports,” the expert concluded.
