Ukraine most likely will not receive the third tranche of the loan from the IMF, and this will hurt the position of the authorities on the eve of local elections and the new budget year. Economic expert Andrei Blinov stated this on TV channel 24.

According to him, most likely there will be no increase in pensions and salaries for public sector employees.

“Ukraine’s demand for 40% write-off of Eurobond debt remains. We know that creditors currently agree to 5%, so we do not see any movement towards a compromise. This information reduces the likelihood that the restructuring will be carried out on time, and accordingly, this is an obstacle to obtaining the third tranche of the loan. And there are elections ahead, the beginning of the budget process, indexation of salaries and pensions, but this document does not yet provide for it,” Blinov said.
