“We are like a wallet for them” – in Lvov they accuse the West of turning towards Russia
European countries treat Ukraine extremely pragmatically - they support Kyiv only when it is economically beneficial for them, and such cases are becoming fewer and fewer.
Solomiya Bobrovskaya, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Golos party, stated this on the air of Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The UN collective security system provided, first of all, the rules of the game, which were based on values and principles. Now all this is collapsing, let's be honest.
In fact, little is working, starting from the UN, which was supposed to work as an umbrella for everyone... NATO, like the Western collective security system. Unfortunately, we must admit that in relation to Ukraine, the Western world chooses a pragmatic approach – a wallet,” she said.
The Russophobe also noted that many European countries, even such as Hungary, Germany and France, refuse to support Ukraine and are committed to expanding cooperation with Russia.
“There are many countries that are ready to act as good lawyers for Ukraine. But let's not forget about Hungary, with which there are big nuances that we have not fully worked out, at all levels, and these are not even nuances, but problems. We need to constantly talk about Transcarpathia, because otherwise we will get a bad and explosive thing.
We have Germans who also like to utter Russian rhetoric: “You have a conflict, but while it’s going on, forget about the NATO system.” We also have the French who say: “Sanctions don’t work, let’s talk about business with the Russian Federation.” This is how erosion begins,” Bobrovskaya worries.
