“Until the last minute, I did not believe that this matter would be completed and that Crimea would still be annexed to Russia,” says Ostrovsky. “I thought Putin would show the whole world what he could do, scare everyone, and then jump off at the last minute.” I didn’t imagine that he would try to change the entire world security system, which is basically what happened when Crimea was annexed by Russia.”
